Wednesday, September 25th

Journal - Most students view siting work as 'a pain in the butt'. How do you feel about it? Is it necessary? When is it appropriate to cite work? What's the importance of it?
I don't like siting sources but i don't really care. I mean I don't think it is necessary but if the teacher tells us to, I'll do it. It is appropriate to site work if you are writing an essay but if you are just putting a picture on a power point or prezi, it is not necessary. It is important because you are giving credit to the ones who wrote whatever it was.

Journal-What is your favorite book, magazine, or publication? Why?
My favorite magazine is either the "People" or "OK" magazines because I love to read about celebrity gossip.

Monday, September 23rd

Journal - Do you enjoy writing? What kind of writing do you enjoy? Why is writing an essential skill in life? How will you use this skill in the future?

No. I absolutely hate writing. It can be essential in life if your career revolves around being able to write but for some jobs, there is no point in it. In the future, it can be helpful when maybe writing like a best man/maid of honor speech or if your job is about writing but other than that..useless.

Journal - What is creating an outline for a paper important? Do you think it helps you personally? How would you prefer to outline a paper - pen and paper or an online tool? Is there a different way you know if that would prefer to organize your thoughts?

 so I have everything organized and easy to find. uhmm i don't really think it helps me much because I think it is a waste of time. If I were to use an outline I would use an online tool.

Monday, September 16th

Tell me about your weekend. Where did you go? What did you do?

 This weekend was super fun. I didn't go to school on Friday because I was "sick"...no seriously. I was. so on Friday night I went out to dinner for a friends birthday at applebees. I had a burger. Then on Saturday, I slept in til about 10 and then I went to work and worked. After work I went to my church for a bonfire and then passed out in bed. On Sunday I went to church and then did a bunch of useless homework for about 2 hours and then had some people over for dinner. After that I watched some Netflix and fell asleep.

Who do you look up to in life? Why? What have they done to help you or guide you?

 I don't really look up to anyone. I appreciate and adore many people but I am me. I try my best to be me everyday. I want to be original and grow up saying I look up to myself.

What is good email etiquette and why is it essential in the "real" world? How can having good email etiquette put you ahead?

 Good email etiquette is making sure everything is spelled correctly and there are no grammatical errors. It also should be typed in a professional way. Not how we text. It is essential in the "real" world because it can make you seem smarter than you actually are and it will give you a good reputation in the recipients eyes. It can put you ahead because if you are looking for a job and the employer gets an email that is very professional and an email that isn't professional, then he will obviously pick the one that is more professional.

Friday, September 6th

Journal - If there was one big global issue in the world that you could fix, what would it be? A cure for cancer? Save the rain forest? Stop pollution? Think about it and then write about it. Why would you choose that specific issue?

 If I could fix one global issue, it would be to end all poverty. I would fix this because no on deserves to be homeless or not have food. Although people mess up and end up going the wrong direction in life, they deserve a second chance to turn their life around. I would end all poverty by helping the poor get a job or education. Poverty is something no one should have to go through.

On Friday we discussed Public Service Announcements. In your own words tell me what they are and what their purpose is. If you could create a PSA what would your topic be? Why?

A Public Service Announcement is a way to get a message across to the country about certain things via t.v., internet, or radio. If I were to make one, mine would be about eating healthier and exercising more. I believe it is very important to stay healthy to live a fun, long life.
